{"id":18,"date":"2010-06-26T16:43:56","date_gmt":"2010-06-26T22:43:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.caitlinhicks.com\/wordpress\/?page_id=18"},"modified":"2010-07-05T19:39:32","modified_gmt":"2010-07-06T01:39:32","slug":"theatre","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/caitlinhicks.com\/wordpress\/theatre\/","title":{"rendered":"Theatre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My work in theatre, television and film in San Francisco, New York, Toronto and Vancouver has included roles as diverse as Nina in <strong><em>The Seagull<\/em><\/strong>, Gwendolyn in the musical of Oscar Wilde\u2019s <strong><em>The Importance of Being Earnest<\/em><\/strong>, Gammer Gurton in the oldest English comedy, <strong><em>Gammer Gurton\u2019s Needle<\/em><\/strong>, Nancy Reagan in an off-Broadway political satire <strong><em>A Bonzo Christmas Carol<\/em><\/strong>. In Toronto, I played Sylvia Plath in the Canadian Premiere of <strong><em>Letters Home<\/em><\/strong>, Fefu in Maria Irene Fornes\u2019 <strong><em>Fefu &amp; her Friends<\/em><\/strong>. On the Sunshine Coast, I have performed at the Gibsons Heritage Playhouse and venues from Pender Harbor to Grantham&#8217;s Landing.<\/p>\n<p>In film and television, credits range from a Stephen King movie of the week, <strong><em>It<\/em><\/strong>, to guest starring with Mickey Rooney in the Vancouver-based tv series <strong><em>The Black Stallion<\/em><\/strong>. I played three starring roles in the feature-length motion picture <strong><em>Singing the Bones<\/em><\/strong>, which premiered at the Montreal World Film Festival, and has screened in Australia, New Zealand, the U.K., the United States and Canada. Radio credits include <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-51\" title=\"CAITLIN on guam legs\" src=\"http:\/\/www.caitlinhicks.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/CAITLIN-on-guam-legs-111x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"111\" height=\"150\" \/>S<em>tories <\/em><em>for a Winter Solstice <\/em>on CBC\u2019s Morningside (1996), Almanac (\u201894 &amp; \u201895, The Afternoon Show (\u201894) and <em>A Woman\u2019s Body<\/em> and <strong><em>One of Those Days<\/em><\/strong>,Commentary (\u201895).<\/p>\n<p>I have toured my own work as a playwright to hundreds of cities in five countries, playing Annie Shea in <strong><em>Six Palm Trees,<\/em><\/strong> Dorothy and Karen in <strong><em>Just a Little Fever<\/em><\/strong>, Sara, Meg and Nicole in <strong><em>Singing the Bones<\/em><\/strong>. My work as an actress\/playwright has been seen at the Edmonton and Vancouver <strong><em>Fringe<\/em><\/strong>, the <strong><em>Women In View Festival<\/em><\/strong>, at Sechelt\u2019s Raven\u2019s Cry Theatre and Gibson\u2019s Heritage Playhouse.
