The national Writers Union of Canada (TWUC) and BC regional Federation of BC Writers (fbcw) teamed up to offer writers a weekend-long Spring Writer’s Retreat March 11th – 13th. On Friday evening at 7 o’clock, a Meet & Greet was hosted by The Gumboot Cafe in Roberts Creek.
The next day at The Linwood House Tax Tips for Writers with George Opacic (9:30 AM), was followed by a networking lunch. Members chose their table host: Andreas Schroeder, Jane Davidson or Hal Wake. Here’s Nicole Iverson, a BC Fed member.

An afternoon with Sechelt’s Festival of the Written Arts Producer Jane Davidson and Hal Wake, Producer of the Vancouver Writers Festival in a discussion called Inside the Festival Circuit (1:15 – 2:45) in the Great Room at The Linwood.
Saturday afternoon at the Gibsons Public Library at 3:30 with Meet the Author Book Table & Signing and a Workshop, Social Media Savvy for Authors with Sapha Burnell.
The evening wrapped up at The Sunshine Coast Arts Centre with a Literary Cabaret @7:30 featuring authors and writers from both unions performing their work in short, prepared presentations.
