BC Writer’s Workshop

The national Writers Union of Canada (TWUC) and BC regional Federation of BC Writers (fbcw) teamed up to offer writers a weekend-long Spring Writer’s Retreat March 11th – 13th. On Friday evening at 7 o’clock, a Meet & Greet was hosted by The Gumboot Cafe in Roberts Creek.

The next day at The Linwood House Tax Tips for Writers with George Opacic (9:30 AM), was followed by a networking lunch. Members chose their table host: Andreas Schroeder, Jane Davidson or Hal Wake.  Here’s Nicole Iverson, a BC Fed member.

The evening wrapped up at The Sunshine Coast Arts Centre with a Literary Cabaret @7:30 featuring authors and writers from both unions performing their work in short, prepared presentations.

Carol Shaben read from her non-fiction best seller: INTO THE ABYSS. JoAnne Bennison and her husband Greg (left). JoAnne read from her novel JINXED. Shelley Harrison Rae read poems from her book of poetry, LIFE LEAVES STAINS. There were ten readers altogether, each excellent.
